Update to API V2 Pagination

On October 10, 2018, we will begin limiting the number of forms that can be displayed per page to 50 when using the Formstack V2 API to list them.

What does this mean?

This means that, when you call our API to get a list of your forms, you will no longer get the entire list of forms on your account. Instead, the list will be capped at 50 forms per page (even if you do not set a maximum limit in your call).

After the limit is hit, the list will continue on another page, and you will need to make additional calls to retrieve the whole list. If you already use a per_page parameter, but it's larger than the defined maximum, we will only return the default number of forms (50).

What do I need to do?

If you are OK with only displaying 50 or fewer forms per page, then you don't need to do anything. When the update goes into effect, your call will automatically adjust.

If you have a per_page maximum of more than 50 set up, you will need to reduce it to a number equal to or less than 50. If this adjustment isn't made when the update goes into effect, the call will only display 50 forms.

If you're unsure, please discuss this internally with your account admin(s).

Why are we doing this?

This update should reduce the number of timeouts that occur when an API makes a large call, which will lessen the strain on our servers and give you a better overall experience.
