Beanstream: Commonly Returned Errors

Below is a list of common errors experienced between Formstack Forms and the Beanstream integration.  Here you can reference frequently encountered errors and the suggested corrective action.  Some errors are dependent on your form so additional troubleshooting may be necessary.

1.  Error from Beanstream: Authorization Failed

  • In Settings > Beanstream, confirm your Merchant ID. Your Merchant ID is a 9-digit number that is sent to your email from Beanstream when you first sign up for an account.

  • Your Beanstream account is set to use Username/Password Validation.  This will need to be turned off in your Beanstream account.  When you log into Beanstream, go to Administration > Account Settings > Order Settings and uncheck the "Use username/password validation against the transaction."

  • Finally, make sure all Required Fields are mapped to a Formstack Field and the integration is switched ON.

2. Error from Beanstream: Invalid Transaction Amount

  • The form might be sending a $0.00 amount to Beanstream.  If you have a Total field, make sure the calculations are adding the correct amounts in your form.  Also, make sure this field is marked as Read-Only so form submitters can't make changes.

  • In Settings > Beanstream, confirm the Price and Quantity are mapped to a field.  If you are using a Total field, you will just need to map the Price field.
