Dropbox is a free service that lets you bring your photos, docs, and videos anywhere and share them easily. Integrating Dropbox with your Formstack form will allow for uploaded files to be sent directly to your Dropbox account from a form submission.
To integrate Dropbox with your form, go to the Settings > Integration Hub > Documents tab and click to add Dropbox.
Next, click to login to Dropbox or click to copy authentication credentials from a form that already has Dropbox integrated
If you chose to login, you'll need to login and grant access to Formstack.
After that, you need to choose a Folder and File Path. You can select an existing folder from your Dropbox account or choose to create a new one.
In the integration settings, you can also add a file prefix and add an email address to send a notice to upon failure of the integration, but those fields are both optional.
Note: Adding a unique file prefix is recommended as files with the exact same name will override one another in Dropbox by default.
Once you have your settings and all the required fields mapped, switch the integration to "on". If you leave the integration "off", the integration will be inactive and will not run.
- You must have available storage in your Dropbox account in order for the files to be successfully transferred.
- In general, you are able to upload a maximum of 25MB of data per form and a maximum of 20 file upload fields to Dropbox from a form.
- You can bypass our storage limit when you integrate Dropbox because the files are stored in that app, not Formstack, with an access link still available in each submission. The file transfer limit of 25MB will still apply when uploading a file to Dropbox.
- The intended functionality of the Dropbox integration is that uploaded files (via the File Upload field on your form) are sent to Dropbox upon submission, not the actual submitted form data - that is stored in your Formstack database.
