Formstack Forms to Microsoft Dynamics

Managing your contacts, leads, and opportunities can be a daunting task, but choosing the right CRM can be a life saver.  Microsoft Dynamics is a great CRM and in combination with Formstack Forms can save your sales team countless hours.

By integrating Formstack Forms with Microsoft Dynamics you can automate the creation of Leads, Opportunities, Accounts & Contacts in your CRM from any of your form submissions.  This saves countless hours of manual data entry & allows your to focus more on things that matter.

Here's a quick video to show you how to get everything up and running:

How to Setup Integration:

Step 1:  Build a Form in your Formstack Forms Account

Step 2:  Select a New Flow in Power Automate

You can do this by logging into your Power Automate account and clicking My Flows>+New Flow>Instant Cloud Flow.

 

Step 3:  Name Flow & Select the Formstack Forms Trigger

  • Give your flow a name of your choice.
  • Type in Formstack Forms in the “Choose your flow’s trigger” box & select “Triggers when a form is submitted.”
  • Click Create.

Step 4:  Connect your Power Automate & Formstack Forms Accounts

Follow prompts to sign into your Formstack Forms account using your username/password and give Power Automate permission to connect.

 

 

Step 5:  Select a Form

From the dropdown, select a form that you’d like to use in this flow & click + New Step.

 

Step 6:  Choose Microsoft Dynamics & Your Action

In this example, we will choose Dynamics 365 as our app and Create record as our action that will be triggered on every form submission.

 

Step 7:  Choose the Dynamics Account & Object

You’ll need to choose the correct Dynamics account in the Organization Name dropdown.

Then you’ll need to choose which Entity / Object that you’d like to create a new record for with each form submission.  (ie. Account, Contact, Opportunity. Lead...etc).We’ll choose Contacts in our example here.

Step 8:  Map Forms Fields to Entity/Object Fields in Dynamics

You’ll need to setup a 1 to 1 mapping of your form fields to the fields that you want to populate in your newly created record.

You’ll see your Dynamics entity/object field names appear on the left side of your screen (ie.  Last Name, Address...etc) & you’ll see an empty box to the right of each one.  

Below each empty box select “Add Dynamic Content” and you'll see a menu that pops up with all of the questions from your Formstack Form.

Simply add the Formstack question to the box that lines up with each of the Dynamics fields where you want to send the data & click save.  Super simple!

Step 9:  Test your flow

You can test your new flow by making a form submission on your selected Formstack Form & make sure a new record is created in Dynamics with the submitted data.
Congrats!  You can now automate all of your data collection into Dynamics!
