While most Formstack Agentforce Extension interactions focus on using forms to collect and update Salesforce records, sometimes additional actions are needed—this is where Documents for Salesforce comes in!
Automating Document Generation
Building on the examples from Forms for Salesforce Configuration for Agentforce, consider this scenario:

A patient completes a new intake form but wants a personal copy of the data.

Since the information is stored within the healthcare provider’s Salesforce org, the patient cannot access it directly.

The Agent can ask if they’d like a copy emailed once the chat interaction is completed.
If the patient agrees, the Agent triggers a Flow to:

Merge the data into a preconfigured document template (e.g., a patient intake form).
-
Email the formatted document to the patient using the verified email provided during the interaction.
Adding Digital Signature & Automating Document Storage
Depending on business needs, you can also include a digital signature step using Formstack Sign. This is especially useful when signatures are required, as it can:

Automatically send the document for signing.

Upload the signed document back to the relevant Salesforce record—fully automating the process.

Document Automation Without Forms
Document Automation can be triggered from data in Salesforce - whether that is entered through a Forms for Salesforce form, other Agentforce processes, or already existing on your Salesforce records. Your Agentforce setup can function without forms and still trigger document generation.
For example, your Agent could:

Verify existing data in Salesforce.

Generate and resend documents based on user input.

Allow users to input a purchase order number to resend an existing purchase order.
