With Formstack Documents, you can automatically populate documents from your favorite cloud apps like contracts, quotes, reports, and letters. SharePoint allows you to save and distribute generated documents for instant access for your team.
NOTE: This version of the integration solely supports Communications Sites via SharePoint. If you're looking for something that supports both Communications and Team Sites in SharePoint, we'd recommend checking out our V2 version of this delivery/integration. For more information on setting it up with a newer version, check out this article.
How does this work?
Step 1: Generate a document. For example, you may want to create a proposal template to use in Opportunities in Salesforce.
Step 2: Upload or create a template in Formstack Documents. From the Documents page in Formstack Documents, click the New Document button and enter a name. In the next step, choose create document or upload Document as the document type and then pick the file from your computer.
Modify options like name and file extension within the Settings tab.
Step 3: Set up delivery to save in SharePoint. On the Deliver tab, click the New Delivery button and select SharePoint from the list.
To authenticate your SharePoint account, enter your SharePoint Communications Site URL which looks something like https://example.sharepoint.com/sites/Examples/ (you can find this URL by logging into your SharePoint account and grabbing the URL from that page).
Once the SharePoint account is authenticated, select the folder and subfolders (found under More Options) to save the documents.
Step 4: Set up integration within a cloud app.
Using Salesforce as an example, choose Opportunity as the main Salesforce object and select the document that was set up in Step 3. Then match the merge fields from the Formstack Document and the Salesforce fields within the Field Mapping section.
NOTE: Test to ensure all fields populate by opening an Opportunity and selecting WebMerge to populate. The expected result is for Salesforce to send the information to WebMerge and the document will generate and save into SharePoint.
