With reverse-mapping from Salesforce to Formstack Documents, it is possible to start your data selection process in Salesforce - pushing your desired data fields into Formstack Documents, and then build your template based on your selected fields.
To do this, create a blank builder document in Formstack Documents (Example: Perhaps you already have a builder template you are working on that you’d like to populate more Salesforce fields into):
Please note: This setup is only available by creating a Document through Formstacks doc builder
Once you have created your blank document, return to the Formstack Documents Salesforce mapping area and create a new mapping, with the document template you just created as the selected template:
Now, you may begin to map new fields, naming them right on the Formstack Documents for Salesforce mapping screen, and then save the mapping:
Once your new mapping is created, go back to the blank document template (or refresh it) and you should now see the new mappings you created available to be dragged into your document template as merge fields:
Similarly, if you realize later that you want to add additional mappings to your template, simply go back into Formstack Documents for Salesforce and repeat the process outlined above to push those fields from Salesforce into your Documents Builder template as merge fields.
