Dear Forms for Salesforce Customer,
This is a follow-up to our previous communications regarding the upcoming Salesforce security changes that affect Formstack Forms for Salesforce. We now have confirmed dates from Salesforce and want to share the full timeline along with the action you'll need to take.
Where things stand
Salesforce confirmed they will enforce the Connected App security update on June 24. We created a new version of the Forms for Salesforce managed package, V4.153, that complies with Salesforce's Connected App security requirements. The new package was rolled out to Sandbox environments, so you can start validating the update in a non-production environment now, ahead of the Production release on June 8.
In most cases, V4.153 was automatically updated in your Sandbox environment. If you do not see the new version in your sandbox environment, you can install it manually using the following link: Sandbox installation link. Please keep in mind that this link is designed for sandbox testing purposes, not for the production environment.
What do I need to do?
To avoid any disruption to form submissions and other token-dependent processes, please complete the steps below.
- If you have a Sandbox environment, start with step 1 now.
- For steps 2 and 3, act as soon as possible after the Production release on June 8 to give yourself time to validate that everything is working as expected before June 24.
Step 1
If you have a Sandbox environment, confirm you see V4.153 and refresh your OAuth token in Sandbox. Since V4.153 is now available in Sandbox environments, we recommend refreshing or reconnecting your Salesforce OAuth authorization in Sandbox as soon as possible so you can validate the process in a non-production environment ahead of the Production release.
Step 2
Confirm you are on the new managed package version in Production. The new version should automatically update in your Salesforce environment once it is released to Production on June 3. In most cases, no manual action is needed. However, if your org is not receiving automatic updates, please install the latest Forms for Salesforce managed package manually from the AppExchange.
Step 3
Refresh your OAuth token in Production. After confirming the new managed package version is installed, refresh or reconnect your Salesforce OAuth authorization so your connection is using updated, compliant credentials ahead of Salesforce's June 24 enforcement date. For detailed, step-by-step instructions on how to configure these settings, please refer to our help article: Reset OAuth Token.
Recap and Timeline
Salesforce confirmed that they will enforce the new Connected App security requirements on June 24. To support this, Intellistack is releasing a new Forms for Salesforce managed package version on the following timeline:
- May 27 - Intellistack released the new managed package version to Sandbox environments
- June 8 - The new managed package version is released to Production environments.
- June 24 - Salesforce enforces the Connected App security update. All Forms for Salesforce customers must be on the new managed package version and have refreshed their OAuth token by this date.
