Why Should I Upgrade To 100% Native Plans?
- You are looking to keep all data on Salesforce servers and do not want it to touch a 3rd party server.
- It is important/mandated that data be transferred/stored on servers that are located in your geographic location due to security, privacy and/or data residency policies.
- Your Salesforce org is configured to be HIPAA, GDPR and FERPA compliant, and you need a native solution that matches your Salesforce compliance standards.
- To qualify for a BAA from Formstack
- You are taking a 100% native strategy for your Salesforce org & applications
- You’d like the flexibility to setup your form URLs using a Force.com URL with your trusted, brand name. This is a feature of Salesforce, since it’s hosted on a Salesforce site; the URL will be defined by the site and the domains available on the org.
- New form builder is being rolled out to these plans (starting with beta Sept. 2024)
These are specific feature benefits of an upgrade:
From Starter to Native Standard
- Add a second user
- Add managed sandbox & form migration tools
- Add partial submissions dashboard for saved-for-later forms
- Add ability to manage your own Force.com URL for forms
- 100% native-to-Salesforce form hosting, data processing, & saving of save-for-later submissions
From Pro to Native Essentials
- Add no-code save-for-later for digital experience forms
- Add partial submissions dashboard for saved-for-later forms
- Add ability to manage your own Force.com URL for forms
- 100% native-to-Salesforce form hosting, data processing & saving of save-for-later submissions
From Starter or Pro to Native Professional
- All of the above, plus
- Additional users (up to 5) and submissions (up to 2,000 per month / 24,000 per year)
- Ability to bring encrypted fields onto your forms (e.g. how customers typical handle data such as security numbers)
- Works with Salesforce Shield - top Salesforce security
- Unlimited submissions add-on available
What Else Should I Be Aware Of?
See our Native Readiness Checklist which both describes specific differences in 100% native forms and provides further details to be aware of when considering or preparing to migrate.
What Is The Best Way To Migrate To Native?
You will first need to meet with your account manager to upgrade your license.
Then, we recommend using a sandbox to install the 100% native plan and perform testing before installing in your production org.
- Updating the sandbox to native will have no impact on your production org, or any other sandboxes. Since production orgs and every sandbox has a unique org ID, for Formstack, our licensing and provisioning are tied strictly to the org ID you provide us and they stay independent of each other.
- If you decide to migrate the sandbox and encounter any surprising behavior, or you get stuck, there will be no negative impact to your production environment, due to that partitioning mentioned above. You don't have to worry about day-to-day business processes being impacted.
How Do I Migrate Specific Forms?
It will be important to have a Salesforce Admin and/or someone with the proper permission sets to be able to create/edit VisualForce Pages as well as install managed packages into your Salesforce org. Please reference this article to make sure all necessary permissions are set.
- Refresh your sandbox with the form information you currently have in it, or migrate all the forms you will be using/testing to that sandbox from your production org. (This is only needed if you are going to be testing with current forms and not building new forms from scratch) We have an easy to use migration wizard to assist with this process. Please refer to this guide if you are looking to migrate forms from another sandbox environment, or production org.
- Your sandbox, at the time of this refresh and form migration, will still be licensed to the previous edition of the product.
- You then will publish all the forms you have moved into that sandbox, which will then generate a new hosted form for that sandbox.
- You should then do a submission on each form just to make sure the forms are working as you expect them to.
- After you have completed those steps, you can either contact our Support team, or your dedicated Customer Success Manager (If your Formstack account meets the threshold for one). Formstack will then change the product version for that sandbox from "Pro" to "Native Cloud".
- You will then go through the Native Setup Wizard.
- You will then convert your forms from the "Classic" version to the new "NativeCloud" version. Once you have completed these steps, you should be all set for testing.
If you encounter any issues, our team is here to support you. We also recommend you use this help guide which covers the most common errors that can arise during this process.
