There is not a field limit for any Salesforce App Forms; however, 400 fields is the official limit recommendation of Formstack.
This limit can technically be exceeded without integrations. However, if you do plan to integrate the form with other products like Formstack Documents errors like mapping pages not loading are more likely to occur above the 400 field mark. Please take this into consideration when creating forms with over 400 fields.
What if my form needs a large number of fields?
Best practices with forms requiring a large amount of fields to encounter fewer errors include:
- Separate forms into pages and do not exceed 100 fields per page.
- If you have included any HTML, limit your fields to under 100 fields per page as much as possible.
- Picklists with over ~250 options are likely to result in lower speeds and errors when editing with forms with a large number of fields. Limit the number of large picklist fields per page and on each individual form.
